Well. We didnt give the kids anything, but extra hugs and kisses. And we didnt buy eachother anything either - we had a romantic rendezvous at Hooters (we were running SUPER late, and just needed anything to fill our belly besides our redbulls from the drive up) - spent approximately 40 minutes inhaling our food...and then..ran across the street to the Staples Center...for the Lakers game. Lakers vs. Atlanta.We bought these tickets for our 5 year wedding anniversary back in August. Probably really, the only thing we have ever done for any anniversary since being married.

It was like a dream.
Me: Isn't that the guy who started Facebook? Mark Zuckerbergergereger or something?
Derek: I dont know who cares.
Five minutes later....
Me: Isn't that person FAMOUS? I mean, just look at that couple. They look familiar to me...the Owner's of the Lakers or something?
Derek: I dont know! Watch the game already!
Me: ITS JACK! ITS JACK!!! ITS JACK FREAKING NICHOLSON!!! RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!!! (he is a grumpy old bear)
By far, the best presents Derek gives me are the memories we make! I know it sounds oober cheesy but really, think about it...they are the best gifts!
Just can't explain what last night was like except, I'm so glad we spent what we did (by far our biggest splurge besides our honeymoon), and I hope in another 5 years we are able to do something just as memorable.
