TLR
Our little man, Thomas Lee Roed, born Friday 8/30/13 at 8:05am. 8lbs 8oz 20 inches long. He's the biggest baby we've welcomed into our family, Bobby was 7lbs something, Brooklyn was 6lbs 14oz. The fog of a newborn has set in, if I get 3 or 4 hours straight sleep I feel good (sounds crazy to say that). I think my body has adjusted to operate on broken sleep, and I consume about 1/2 cup to 1 cup of coffee to help with the fatigue which seems to work good enough.
Our boy Tom eats like a champ, seems pretty easy going so far. Kids are in love with him, especially Brooklyn. Brooklyn has to have a morning cuddle with Tommy as soon as she wakes up. We are adjusting to our new normal, this transition seems to be the easiest so far - and it helps that both kids are pretty independent and understand (and follow!) direction most of the time. Both are pretty willing to help me with most things I ask them to do, I cant complain all that much.
Derek and I both agreed that I should get some help during the week. Derek's work schedule is crazy at the moment (lots of jobs starting all at once) so we decided to send the kids back to preschool so I have some time during the week to either clean, do hw or just nap. The kids are really excited (ME TOO!) and I am thankful we can do this - it will be good for the whole family to get them out of the house.
