5 Months

Tommy is 5 months today!  Here are his latest moves:

*On 1/10 he rolled over belly to back
*On 1/11 he rolled back to belly
*We have introduced food, I do a little "dinner" every night for him.  He's getting better at choking it down - literally the kid makes choking sounds (I know I'm a bad cook, but not that bad! LOL)
*He reaches for stuff, we have this flip book called 'where is baby's belly button' and he can now flip the little inserts.
*If I can keep him awake long enough (like 6:30pm/7pm) he will sleep til 5am for me. He did this once or twice this week, but of course last night he was ready for bed at 5:30, and ready to party at 2am, then 4:30am. GRRRRRRRR!
*Can just about sit up. He looks like he is doing some kind of yoga pose because he has to kind of lean forward still, but he's very close to sitting all the way up.
*My "obese" baby is around 18-20lbs still. I've been watching better at the #of bottles, and actually have given him a bottle of water 1x a day. Figured if I can give him food I can give him water now.

Overall little Tom is doing good.

Bobby and Brooklyn are great.  Bobby's little brain is constantly ticking; he is absorbing so much of the world these days! On the way home the other evening, about a 5 minute drive, I managed to teach him how to spell "no" and "yes", and he's spotting these words now.  Amazing to see a young mind learn. Bobby reminds me everyday he's almost 5, asks me if its his birthday yet, and when can he go to the "big kid" school (Ramona Elementary).  Little stinker.  Brooklyn is her same spunky self.  No nap = Hell on earth with her. Nap = Angel.  I've started to give the kids liquid Vitamin C & Cod liver Oil in the morning to help with immunity and the fish oil helps with memory, their moods and a bunch of other stuff. (We use Bubble Gum flavor by Carlson's)

...And Me? Does anyone ANYONE really care about me? Ok, when I ask this pity question to the family usually Bobby says he cares. LOL

I started to do the psycho hard workouts of Crossfit with Robyn & Family but I was not seeing the results I wanted (think buff not trim).  So, I've come to learn from my body, more running/cardio, with a some strength training is best for me. (I do love hitting a tire with a sledge hammer though ;) ) Today I weighed the closest to my prepregnancy weight than ever which makes me happy, but still feel like I have a long way to go. So boring not to eat whatever I want but I'm trying to look at the whole picture not just the short term plan.

And in case anyone is wondering and been following my complaining, I'm almost done with my silly BA. If I could afford too, I would complete all the classes this year, but if I change my cohort plan I disqualify myself from financial aid - WTF? No thanks. Free money and going slow? Ok fine....

Above: My Aunt Margaret (birthday is 9/5/1923), me & Tommy (whose due date was 9/5/2013).
We took a visit to see Aunt Margaret last week.  She celebrated 90 right when Tommy was born, they had a big party.  She was a big part of my childhood, a close friend to the grandparents who helped raise me.  I have so many memories with her.  Her health is slowly declining...

Happy Thursday!
