Our Boy Can SWIM!!!

Bobby can swim with no floaties!

Yesterday we spent the whole day with Derek's family at their house swimming.  It was my father's (in-law) birthday and hot!  Most of the family was with us and we had a great time hanging out, swimming, playing and eating.

Around 4pm yesterday Bobby was taught how to swim by his Papa Bob! I was inside the house playing cards, and I could hear my father (in law) and Bobby yelling at us to look outside and watch - I watched as my little 4 year old son leaped fearlessly into the pool, come shooting up to the top of the water and doggy paddle back to the side of the pool, push himself up and crawl out of the pool to repeat the process again!

I'm so happy he can do it, but now REALLY nervous! I know that Bobby can swim good enough with no floaties, but he cant touch anywhere on the bottom of the pool except the steps to get in so he may overestimate his ability to swim all over the place and get tired...we will still be on high alert but at least my heart can rest a little bit knowing he understands much more now.

Wish I could have captured it on video, I'm sure this week he will be at it again, so I'll have to try and record his latest accomplishment

We are so proud of him! He's the youngest on that side of the family to learn how to swim....what an awesome day yesterday!

Uh, June?

Its still June, right?

Whew. Just checking.

Derek's birthday was 6/10, then Father's Day 6/16. We didnt do much since I'm a grump-a-saurus lately.  My apologies to everyone around me.  I'm sorry to all you poor innocent souls who've had to be near me after a melt down or extremely long day. I'm trying to get myself out of this constant PMS...now pass the ice cream. :)

I am freaking tired though. Man, I am tired. Oh and did I mention HOT? Yeah. HOT. The kids are relentless. Just so much to do everyday.  School...I registered for my 2 summer classes and did NOT realize for the summer I take 2 CLASSES simultaneously. Two? Are you freaking kidding? Normal routine is 1 class every 8 weeks. Thankfully they are NOT math classes so they are somewhat manageable and easier for me, but I am stressed to the max. I neglect HW, the house is clean, I neglect housework (ha, "HW" again, blah) and HW is neglected. And the kids....? Speaking of....where are those...hey...get...back...HERE! It honestly feels like that.  For basically having zero help (and I mean ZERO) and juggling so much junk alone, I think I'm doing ok...

School. UGGGHHHHH The fall semester starts 8/26 and if I can deliver little man a week early like I did with Brooklyn, then I'd have a newborn and the new semester starting all at once. WHAT. WERE. WE. THINKING.????????????? So, I was debating: register or not register? I only have 1&1/2 years left. Not much left and I just did not want to stop. I want to graduate. I want to be done with this saga. So I've decided I will go ahead and enroll because I'm receiving so much in pell grants for the fall & spring semesters that more than enough of my tuition is covered, and hopefully my books plus some extra change. Thank Goodness. I'd like to put that extra free money aside for Bobby's preschool tuition. We shall see if its enough.

Here are some photos from the last few weeks....

Kids Are Funny

Getting into mommy's closet and wearing her stuff and making a big mess
- just wait Bobby....I will embarrass you one day!

Nice tan line Brooklyn...That tan is with no sunscreen (yes bad mommy) but she tans in like 5 minutes just like her Daddy.  She definitely has some of the native american showing through on her skin tone...

Playing a game with the kids - encouraged them to first draw what they see, then to try and draw stuff for mommy to guess. In the picture below Bobby drew those stick figures which I didnt think was half bad for a 4 year old. (But I have nothing to compare it)
Brooklyn drawing circles or "o's" and she says. She is quite good with holding a pen.

Bobby said this last picture below was a person in a boat. Hard to tell but the boat was pretty good, the person doesnt look to bad either.  The kids loved playing on the white board.

2 of 3

Yesterday was the 2nd of 3 weddings.  Two weddings in less than a week - yikes!  This wedding was at Milagro Winery in "Ramona", more like almost Santa Ysabel.  It was a relaxing wedding, the groom was pretty funny, and his mom is equally as silly.  The location was all outdoors but had plenty of shade - thank goodness!  Yesterday was H-O-T! At just about 28 weeks (officially on Tuesday) I was feeling ok.  Thankfully there were plenty of cool places to sit, and lots of water floating around.  It was again another nice time spent with Derek...

1 of 3

We went to our 1st wedding of the summer, 1 of 3 weddings for this summer.  Was such a pretty location, small and intimate here in San Diego.  One of the best parts of this wedding was the big leather couches in the room that I could park my nearly 7 month pregnant butt on throughout the night lol...  Breathtaking views at the location.  Numerous people commented on Derek's bowtie - he was quite happy with his fashion statement, and then for me, most people could hardly tell I was pregnant by my outfit which made me feel good since I've been feeling like a beluga whale lately.  We had a great time over the weekend...

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was ok. The kids caught some bad bug about 2/3 weeks ago - bad sore throat/neck aches with a fevers, then turned into a bad cold/congestion.  It hit me early last week, and I am "dying", I'm pregnant and basically cant take anything for this stupid virus!  In the beginning I felt like I was swallowing knives. It was sooooo hard to swallow, so painful. I cried a few nights out of pain. Tylenol was NO RELIEF.  And then if/when it did finally work, it would really truly only last 3.5 hours. Miserable.  Now I'm congested and coughing at night so I'm not sleeping again because of congestion, but I would take congestion over that nasty sore throat anyday.  In addition to that, BOTH OF MY EYES HAD A LIGHT CASE OF PINK EYE. Gross I know.  My doctor tested for strep throat the other day, I doubt this is what I have but he had to be sure.

My Mother's Day gift blew me away. Derek surprised me with a really thoughtful present.  Even the card he purchased was so thoughtful and sincere.  I dont know how I'm going to return the love on Father's Day and his birthday.  He's the best husband ever.

A few other pictures are above - this is what the kids normally do in the first few hours of the day while I do homework or stuff for our business, go for a run, or clean up the house in the morning.  Seems a little crazy but hey I at least (1) have to clean the couches/vacuum the cushions and (2) it keeps them safe (sorta) and happy.

Rylee

Its kind of a long story why, but we had to put our very first dog down, Rylee, on Friday (5/3/2013).

She had been suffering from cancer on her front pad for nearly a year, it was to the point where there were times I would question how much longer she had; putting her down was somewhat forced and I think thats why its even more upsetting.  The cancer had taken over the entire front pad, smelled liked road kill, and she had lost 40lbs.  It was probably close to the end of her time here on earth, but losing a loved one always feels too soon.

Rylee was a gift from Derek to me after about 6 months we had been living in our current house.  I had begged like an annoying little kid for a long time for a dog. She was an awesome puppy because unlike most puppies she RARELY chewed anything up. I mean I think I may have caught her less than 5 times chewing on something she wasnt supposed to. She was so mellow. So loving.  Dont get me wrong, she had her high energy times, but compared to the average dog, she was a relaxed dog. I taught her to do the typical tricks: sit, speak, lay down.  She was my first dog.

There were many things Rylee was around for, she was a dear part of our lives for 8 &1/2 years.  I miss her so much.  Its so hard to believe she is gone.  I walk around the house and so much of these walls are filled with memories of her.

Derek's family has a sister of hers, Kacie (pictured above) and when I hear her bark I hear Rylee.

She is dearly missed. She was a beloved companion to me and Derek.  She holds a very special place in my heart.  She was very sick with cancer so it was truly a matter of time, it just felt unfair to have to do it now.  I know she is resting above and running around on all 4's again....
