Happy Birthday Bobby!!! SEVEN TODAY!!! I knew this day would come, but I felt like it was yesterday when I was holding him thinking this day was so far away!!!

The night he was born
I sort of dropped the ball on planning a party for him this year. We asked him what he wanted for his birthday: a party or something else with the family. He initially said he wanted to go to Legoland with us, then said he just wants legos, and now he's saying he wants a party! (Peer pressure since some of his friends are having a birthday and a party too!) Not sure what we will do - next week is Spring Break and I hate to try and organize a party and have everyone not be able to come.
Bobby is growing and learning so much right now! First grade has been so exciting. He started the year off only recognizing a few basic words and now he is able to decode sounds and figure out new words! We have to be careful what he sees and hears because of this new skill! HA!
Brooklyn is doing great. I know she could benefit from having a nap on most days after a long full dat at T-K. She is eager to read, so we have been practicing a lot at home with Green Eggs and Ham and The Cat in the Hat. She despises having me read to her because "she can do it", even though she knows she still needs help with the text.
Tommy is great too. He's been attending preschool more and more as I take on as many sub assignments as I can squeeze in around the kids. He pees on command but not on his own but this is huge progress compared to where he was just a few months ago. He talks so much, repeats EVERYTHING and loves to play with Bobby and Brooklyn. He's absorbing so much, I feel like he is growing the fastest of all 3 kids.
As we continue to raise the kids, I'm finding I learn something new everyday about the human body and development! Bobby has a case of "shark tooth" - literally an extra adult tooth! He hasn't lost ONE baby tooth yet, and none of his teeth are even wiggling! He was complaining the front tooth was kind of hurting which is being pushed forward by his shark tooth and his other adult teeth. We had it checked out yesterday and there is nothing they can do until the shark tooth completely comes in his mouth.
I'm on my way to attaining my credential so I can have my own classroom. I have a few tests to pass still, and pending my official acceptance to the credential program I applied to, I'll begin in the fall. In the meantime, (thanks to a supportive friend) I've been substitute teaching. This has been so much fun thus far (despite some mommy guilt I feel for leaving Tommy at preschool nearly every day!!). Its challenging because the schools are all so different, behavior management for each teacher is different (and sometimes I infuse my own, and most recently I invested in my own chime/bell - thanks Amazon), and the dynamics of the classroom can vary as well. It is a highly fast paced environment where you have like 15 minutes to get a good idea of whats expected for the day, but all in all the kids are helpful and honest about how the day should go if I need a little help. The mornings and nights are crazy because I'm sort of "on call" and at just a moments notice I need to be ready to go in the morning - and my kids need to be ready too - - the hardest part! But I enjoy it, the time flies and I've never held a job where I felt like time was flying because I was having FUN at work (although I know one day this excitement may sizzle out.). Everyone has been asking me what grade level I enjoy the most, and I'm not quite sure. I do enjoy the elementary kids simply because they still want to be nice to their teacher. :)
